Fashion In Process

Innovation, Fusion & Collaboration. Making connections and crossing borders with design, craft and manufacturers across Europe

The WORTH project is supported by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enterprise & Industry, and is financed under the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) which aims to encourage the competitiveness of European Enterprises.

Inspired by the designer Charles F. Worth – a pioneer of Haute couture – the WORTH project will initiate partnerships between designers and enterprises (manufacturers, retailers, craftsmen, technology companies) in fashion, textiles, jewelry, footwear, eyewear, furniture, fur, leather industries, from different EU member states to create innovative new products. Partners will be supported to develop the products, define their market positioning, exhibit these products at trade fairs or exhibitions, and organize IP rights’ management.

The WORTH project is a partnership between Institut Français de la Mode(IFM) and London College of Fashion’s Centre for Fashion Enterprise(CFE). Both organizations are combining their expertise and knowledge to cultivate cross-European partnerships, hence producing innovative products and processes. The Italian representative body for creative SMEs (CNA/Federmoda) provides a thorough expertise in manufacturing industries, contributing to a deeper understanding of their needs. EURATEX the European federation of textile industries will help disseminate the WORTH program – and later its findings – throughout the EU industrial network.

The Steering Board will have 10 external professional members, including product designers, design-led brands or retailers, representatives of leading fashion and design schools in the EU, fashion and design opinion formers like design magazines, and other experts, in addition to members of the operational team.
